I was inspired by how the science fiction genre can be used to reflect on the experience of a human life. Things that are essential to what makes human life unique. One of these things is memories. I made this album thinking about how if you could choose what you remember and what you forget, you would change who you are and how you became that way. If there was a technology that allowed us not only to remember things in perfect detail, but to choose what we remember and what we don't, it would change the human experience. Technologies can alway be tampered and interfered with, which means that who we are could be altered by outside forces if we were not careful. The songs follow a protagonist as she discovers that her memories (and by extension her identity) have been changed by a system that seeks to force a false sense of peace upon the population by deleting any experiences of conflict. The protagonist finds away to see past her artificial memories and rediscover who she truly is and rebels against the forces that have oppressed her, and other people like her. I made this music entirely through sequencing. I experimented with sounds, time signatures, song structure and more, all to create a collection of songs that are both unique among themselves, and unique in the greater scope of music being made today. This album is a soundtrack to a story in my head and just as I created it, it has created a part of me.
